Future-proof your data: Quantum-safe encryption in the quantum computing age - Paul Schweigert & Michael “Max” Maximilien, IBM (IBM TechXchange 2025)
IBM Quantum’s mission is to lead the world in creating useful quantum computing and to make the world quantum safe. This means the hardware and the software (quantum and classical) required to realize that mission. As part of making the world quantum safe, IBM is leading efforts in industry and in the open source community that will help smooth out that transition. For instance, the Post-Quantum Cryptography Alliance (PQCA) is a Linux Foundation organization which has the express purpose of creating production-ready open source software that is quantum safe, and the Post-Quantum Cryptography Coalition (PQCC) is an industry effort designed to educate and advocate for quantum safe. IBM has also worked internally on moving part of our classical stack to quantum safe to test these .
